Namaste: the yoga festival team
The West Cork Yoga Festival Collective offer this event in the spirit of Yoga,
of compassion, truth, unity and devotion.
It is our intention that all who attend will experience the peace, joy and contentment that Yoga can offer.
Established in 2015 as a non-profit, community focused event, we aim to support the growth of yoga and the healing arts, support teachers and therapists in the West Cork area, foster community,
and support local charities.
As well as representing many schools of yoga we also include its many aspects: meditation, mantra, mudra,
yoga nidra, nada yoga, kirtan. You can also expect to find sound healing, mindfulness meditation, tai chi,
chi gung, movement, dance, drumming, talks, music and a healing area. There is a space for children
where there will be yoga and nature based activities for children.
Central to the spirit of the festival is the idea of Seva - selfless service.
We wanted to create an event that had the spirit of community and sharing at its heart.
It is a non-profit event: We don't pay anyone a wage and the profits go towards local charities
or the expenses that make the event possible: In 2017 we raised €5400 for local charities. The total amount donated to local charities in the last three years now amounts to €12,000.
